Regular followers of on the needles Fridays over on Patchwork Today might have noticed that I am not exactly monogamous with my knitting projects. At the moment I have 11 active projects listed on Ravelry, and that is actually low for me.

I noticed over the summer that I was starting to accumulate little scraps of sock yarn, and I looked for a project to use them up. I found the Big Afghan by Ulli Stuttgart. It reminded me of a quilt pattern, and allowed me to use up random scraps of sock yarn. It is knit on the diagonal and uses two yarns held together.

I've been making the Barn Raising Quilt on Rav using my sock yarn leftovers. Need to lay it out to see how big it is getting.

Another great pattern for yarn 'leftovers' - love the look.

I innocently started knitting a lot last year...now I have more projects than I thought I would ever start when I was just knitting a couple of hats during my surgery recovery...now I see this great blanket...never wanted to start knitting a blanket before but this give you a good reason to start knitting socks!

Do it, Laurie! Since it is blocks, you get the satisfaction of meeting smaller goals along the way, plus I started with what I had and can add in more yarn as I get more.
